I just remembered something!
I have this box I made, it's an old travel case - the ones ladies would use to put their makeup in. It's an old one I found at the thrift store and then painted with a lily pattern. I was thinking about it because I have another project I want to do thats similar and over the weekend at the Readers Studio (I have yet to finish my write up of it, sorry) I got a lot of comments on it which always amazes me!
I was thinking about lilies and remembered that I had originally painted this box when I was painting the Magician! The first version of it had the same lily pattern in the background. I haven't thought about that for a long time.
So I use this box to carry around all my tarot decks and any other related things when I go out. Isn't that cool that it's related to the Magician? It's like my bag of tricks! Or more seriously, the tools of my trade, a gift from the magician - and he didn't give me the tarot decks, but the container which I carry them in. It is like the archetypal magician (that I imagine anyway), the old man that helps you on your way, he didn't give me the tools directly, he gave me the abiity to carry them, the knowedge to create my own. Hey! do you think that is the bag, the wallet, the Fool carries?
